Yes. If you have had surgery, chiropractic care may help limit the dysfunction and pain associated with some back surgeries. It may help prevent repeat operations and may help maximize the level of function you do have. We enjoy the opportunity to work with surgeons and other health care providers to coordinate your care as a team and bring about the best results for you.
Our philosophy is to begin with treatment that is simple and safe. If that approach is not sufficient, only then will we guide you toward other disciplines that are more aggressive and invasive.
A difficult birth or delivery, an auto accident, a fall no matter how long ago, bad posture, eating junk food, using the same body position over and over at work or play, emotional tension, pushing yourself too hard, being a couch potato, dental work, medications, surgery, working in an awkward position, long car rides, a mild jar when you are unprepared, an emotional shock when your energy is low, and more…
Our patients wear what ever they like. It is not necessary to remove clothing for most treatments. During your initial visit and during diagnostic testing, you may be asked to put on a gown. Most patients are comfortable if they wear loose fitting clothing.
Ultimately, you’ll be the judge of how often you will come once the original goal/reason for beginning treatment has been met. We have patients that come in regularly and some who do not. What ever level of care you desire, the doctors at Crabtree Chiropractic are ready to assist however you direct them.
Pain often fades as the body compensates and adapts to spinal misalignments and distortions, although the compensations themselves often lead to a slow, but progressive destruction of the joints known as osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease. Once the joint is destroyed, there is less for the doctor to work with, subsequently early detection and treatment is best.
Healing takes more time with some than others. Each person’s experience is different based on the problems that are experienced as well as their health history, age, inherited strengths and weaknesses.
The sound is caused by a gas bubble that is released when the joint is slightly separated during the adjustment. Some adjustments create no sound at all. Adjustments are generally gentle and do not cause pain. In some instances, a patient may feel discomfort later on in the day because tissues have been stretched into a more appropriate, though unfamiliar position. Mild soreness is the most common side effect of care and is usually short lived (lasting hours to a day or two after care). The net effect is better overall function and a sense of well-being.
The most simple answer is everyone is unique and it is based on the symptoms you experience, as well as your general health. Our no-charge preliminary examination will help determine your initial need. Once your body is holding your adjustments for longer periods and maintaining its alignment, the doctor will recommend a maintenance schedule.
Spinal care is a non-medical alternative for the over-drugged older population. Chiropractic care helps the body be stronger, healthier, and younger by helping it continue to move more freely, thereby avoiding premature aging of the body.
Yes. Chiropractic care is a gentle and drug-free approach for pregnant women undergoing structural and hormonal changes that affect the spine, nerves, joints, connective tissues, center of gravity, and more. The doctors at Crabtree Chiropractic will help ensure you are moving easily and free of vertebral subluxations. Spinal corrective care contributes to a more comfortable pregnancy and labor. After pregnancy, spinal care can help with postpartum and returning to pre-pregnancy fitness.
Chiropractic care is useful for infants, babies, and children and is completely safe. We have even treated babies on the way home from the hospital after being born. A spinal check up is a good idea for babies after a difficult delivery, not sleeping through the night, crying constantly, ear infections, colic, skin disorders and more! Normal childhood will cause many to experience falls, bumps and bruises. Get your child checked out to avoid serious health consequences and possible degeneration down the road. Preliminary examinations are always at no charge.
